Melissa Witcher is a professional & literary writer, collagist, muralist, and embroidery artist. 

 

after graduating from college, She worked as a middle school social studies teacher in California, a library assistant on a graduate studies scholarship in Washington, D.C., a mentor for adolescents in Boston, and as a manager of a job training program for unhoused adults in São Paulo, Brazil. All of these jobs were challenging and rewarding in distinctive ways, but nothing was the right fit.

 

In 2013, someone asked her what she loved doing more than anything else and writing was her answer. she hadn't written anything outside of work since high school and had no formal training. The inconvenience of her response—no experience, no prospects—didn't alter the truth of her realization: She was a writer. 

 

It wasn't until she began writing artist biographies for family and friends that she considered professional writing AS A CAREER. since then, she's taken over a dozen online writing classes, written for several blogs, and self-published a romance novel. She now specializes in individual professional biographies and BESPOKE newsletter content. She has written biographies for lawyers, doctors, psychologists, CEOs, & artists and writes newsletter content for companies of all industries and sizes. 

 

Her formal training as a historian equips her to research and make contextual connections. THAT, combined with her knowledge of how to craft a narrative, MAKES HER particularly qualified to write original and engaging texts for her clients. She excels at highlighting individual expertise in powerful ways and there's nothing she enjoys more than helping people tell their unique and memorable stories.
